We are very sad here at The Grumpy Dragon about the movie theater shootings that occurred on Friday, July 20, 2012 in Aurora, Colorado, a community just 70 miles north from us. We actually know some young people who were injured in the shootings and lost one of the members of their group. As you know, we try very hard to nurture all our authors and artists, but helping teens is our specialty. Our response to this tragedy is to renew our promise to keep reaching out to positively affect the lives of young people, wherever we encounter them, so that no one has to grow up feeling as damaged as the young man who perpetrated this crime obviously felt. We send out prayers, healing thoughts, and compassion to all those involved in this event: the victims in the theater, their friends and family, all the emergency response forces who acted so quickly and heroically, the journalists who brought us information around the clock, the family of the shooter, and the shooter himself as he faces the consequences of his actions. We hope that he finds justice and fairness, not hatred and fear.
Thank you for being a supporter of The Grumpy Dragon, and may you have a peaceful day.
